The Wombat Living is an activity chair for children who need postural support to take part in what is going on around them: sitting at a table, joining a class, eating with the family. This is the size 3 high back version on the larger wheels, for older or larger children who need support up to and including the head and upper trunk.
Who it suits
The high back configuration suits a child with limited head or upper trunk control, or one who spends time reclined during the day for rest, feeding or pressure relief. Size 3 is the largest of the range and carries the highest weight capacity, so it can stay with a client well into their teens with the seat depth and back height adjusted as they grow.
Height adjustment takes the seat from floor level up to table level, so the same chair works for floor play with siblings and then for a meal at the family table. Tilt in space lets the carer change the load through the child’s spine without losing the seating position set by the therapist. Only the high back version takes the pelvis supports, so plan the accessory list alongside the chair.
