Standing is only useful if the child will stay in the frame, and comfort at the contact points decides that. This extra cushion adds padding where the Caribou supports the body, softening a hard contact surface and spreading pressure over a wider area.
It helps most with children who are thin, who have bony prominences, or who have skin that marks easily. It also helps a child who is new to standing and needs the first few sessions to be pleasant and not something to resist. Carers get a surface that is easy to wipe down and quick to fit or remove when the frame is being set up for a different child.
Four sizes are available so the cushion matches the frame size and the area that needs the padding.
