Pushing a manual wheelchair up a Tasmanian driveway or across a long car park wears a carer out, and that is often what stops a client getting out of the house. This power unit attaches to the back of a manual chair and drives it, so the carer steers and controls speed while the motor does the work.
Control is through a hand operated trigger on the handle, with a speed dial and a battery indicator in view, so the carer can slow down for a kerb or a crowded footpath without changing grip. The unit clips on and comes off again for transport, which keeps the chair usable as a normal manual chair indoors and folds down for the boot.
