The e-motion wheels look like ordinary rear wheels and are used like ordinary rear wheels. A sensor in each push rim reads how hard the client pushes and a motor inside the hub adds power in proportion, so the client keeps propelling and every push goes further.
This suits a client who can still self propel but is paying for it in shoulders, wrists or fatigue by mid afternoon. It also suits a household with hills, thick carpet or a long driveway. The chair’s frame, seating and folding all stay as they were.
This build has puncture proof polyurethane tyres, so there is no pump to carry and no repair on the side of the road, and stainless steel push rims for a firm grip in the wet. It comes without the ECS remote control, so the wheels are switched on and off at the wheel itself.
