A client who slumps or pushes into extension halfway through a lift is the hardest transfer a carer does. The shoulders drop back and the carer ends up steadying the client by hand while the hoist is still moving. The MultiFit SL Reflex answers that with shoulder straps that adjust themselves as the client’s trunk position changes, so the support follows the movement instead of fighting it.
The leg sections are oversized padded paddles, which helps a client with larger thighs or skin that marks easily. Low friction rip-stop nylon runs down the spine and the legs so the sling slides into place with less shear on the skin, and less effort from the carer. An integrated head support, positioning handles, coloured attachment loops and a modesty loop come as standard, with binding colour coded by size across a wide fitting range.
It is made by Joerns for seated and toileting transfers of clients with poor sitting balance: cerebral palsy, MS, Huntington’s, or after a stroke. The padded legs suit a client with thin skin or pain under the thighs.
