The Nimbo is a posterior walking frame for children and young people who need support behind them, not in front. Walking into the frame encourages an upright trunk, head up and shoulders back, which is the position most therapy goals are aiming at.
Who it suits
It works for clients with cerebral palsy, developmental delay and other conditions where trunk extension and a reciprocal step pattern are the priority. The rear wheels can be set to roll forward only, so a child who tends to push backwards still gets a stable base to work from, and the front casters lock or swivel depending on whether you want tracking or turning.
The frame folds for the car and for classroom storage, and handle height adjusts as the child grows, so a walker bought this year usually still fits next year. Soft rubber wheels grip on vinyl, carpet and outdoor paths.
