Who it suits
The JAY Zip Back is made for children roughly between the toddler years and the mid teens who need posterior support with mild lateral containment, and who are still doing plenty for themselves. It shapes the trunk enough to hold an upright working posture without closing the child in.
Weight was the design priority. On a small child’s chair, anything added to the backrest comes straight out of what they can push, so this back keeps the shell and hardware light and mounts on two points for a simple install.
The hardware grows with the child through depth, width and angle adjustment, which is how you buy one back and keep it through several growth spurts. Angle adjustment also helps when a child needs to be brought forward for eye contact and table work.
Covers are a pair: a water resistant inner to protect the foam, and a silver treated stretch outer that washes. The back is crash tested.
