This is the JAY Ion supplied with a spare outer cover. In supported accommodation, in schools, and anywhere laundry turnaround is slow, the second cover is what keeps a client on their own prescribed cushion every day of the week.
The cushion is a layered foam build: a visco memory foam upper that conforms to the individual and spreads load, over a firmer base layer that provides the structure and holds the pelvis steady. Firmness is set by cushion width and its matching user weight range.
The water-resistant inner cover stays with the cushion and protects the foam, with an aqua-guard zip and anti-wicking thread. The two outer covers are machine washable and carry a silver ion fibre with a spacer layer for airflow, so one can be off being cleaned without the cushion leaving the chair. For carers, that is one less thing to work around.
