This is the core JAY Fusion: a contoured foam base with a JAY Flow fluid insert over the pelvic loading area. Fluid moves towards equilibrium under load, so the ischial tuberosities settle into it, and the load spreads across a wider area of tissue.
It suits clients with a history of skin breakdown, clients who cannot weight shift on their own, and people who spend most of the day in the chair. The closed-cell foam base and posterior pelvic wall give the pelvis somewhere definite to sit, which helps a client who tends to slide forward.
The fluid insert needs no pumping, checking or adjusting, so there is nothing for a carer to get wrong. The outer cover machine washes and the inner cover keeps moisture off the foam.
