The Icare Mattress Cover fully encases the mattress and zips shut, giving protection on every surface, top, sides and base. For clients with continence needs, and in any setting where infection control matters, that full encasement protects the mattress underneath and makes cleaning between clients much simpler.
The face fabric is Tencel bonded to a thin waterproof PU membrane, so spills and moisture are blocked while water vapour still escapes. In practice, the client gets a soft, quiet sleep surface without the plastic feel or crackle that puts people off waterproof bedding. The zip closure also gives a barrier against dust mites and bed bugs, which helps clients with allergies.
It stretches with the mattress beneath, so it will not fight the pressure redistribution of a therapeutic mattress. It is machine washable and made for repeated laundering.
