A full length rail for clients where involuntary movement, impaired coordination or altered awareness raises the risk of rolling out of bed. The four bar design gives continuous coverage along the side of the bed while the client rests or sleeps.
The rail folds down under carer operation and locks in the raised position until it is deliberately released, so access for transfers and personal care is quick without leaving the rail unsecured. It uses a slip on design with a hand turn clamping bolt, so it fits compatible Icare beds without tools.
Rails are handed, and Icare prescribes them from the client’s perspective lying in bed: a left rail sits on the client’s left side. The carer release folds towards the foot of the bed, which is why the side matters at order time. This is a protective support device, not a restraint, and whether its use is a restrictive practice depends on the client’s circumstances and your organisation’s policy, so a clinical assessment should come first. Optional mesh, waterproof padded and upholstered covers are available.
