Perching takes the load off legs and back without the full effort of standing, and that is often the difference between your client finishing a task at the kitchen bench and giving it up. The Sherwood Plus is the bariatric version of that stool, with a padded vinyl seat, a depth adjustable padded backrest and tubular arms to push up from.
Seat height adjusts on pin clips, so it can be set for a bench, a basin or a shower and moved between them. The steel frame is cross braced and stands on non-slip ferrules, and the wipe-clean vinyl over foam handles wet areas. The backrest matters more than it looks: clients who tire after a few minutes of perching will use the stool for longer with something behind them.
It is commonly prescribed for larger clients with reduced standing tolerance, fatigue, breathlessness or pain, in kitchens, laundries and level access showers, at home and in community settings.
