The Sorrento Bariatric brings tilt in space, recline and leg elevation to people of larger build who can’t walk. It tilts from 5 degrees forward to 30 degrees back, reclines from 90 to 130 degrees and the leg rest rises from 90 to 125 degrees. The arms remove for side transfers and hoist slings, and the bottom cushion lifts out to make room for a gluteal shelf.
Seat widths run from 600 to 850 mm in 50 mm steps, and seat depth and footplate height adjust. Dartex covers sit over a memory foam cushion. A Sorrento Bariatric Plus is also available with seat widths to 1,000 mm and powered Drive Assist for carers; ask us for its specifications.
Who it suits
Non-ambulant people of larger build who need pressure care and regular repositioning in hospital, care or at home. We trial bariatric seating on site with the prescribing OT and care team, Tasmania-wide.
