Two large contoured handles are angled so both hands can share the load, and a wide base keeps it stable when it is put down heavily or knocked. The spouted lid has a small opening that controls the flow, which cuts spills for a client drinking reclined or with a tremor.
The body is clear polycarbonate, so a carer can see at a glance how much has actually been drunk without lifting the mug or asking. It is light, dishwasher and microwave safe, and matches the Homecraft Caring Cutlery range on the table.
It suits clients with tremor, arthritis or hemiplegia who need two hands on a drink, and clients in bed or a recliner who cannot tilt the head back fully. A client on thickened fluids or with dysphagia may need a cut-out cup or a controlled-flow lid recommended by their speech pathologist rather than a spout.
