Toileting is the transfer that takes the most out of a carer’s day, and the Handi-Move Stand-Assist is built around it. The client’s feet rest on a footboard, an adjustable knee pad steadies them, and the lift brings them up into a standing position with the sling supporting the back and arms.
The lower body stays clear through the whole movement, so the carer can manage clothing and continence care with the client safely held. That one detail is what makes it work for a client who is incontinent and currently needs two people.
The base width adjusts, so it gets in around a wheelchair, a recliner or a geriatric chair, and the footprint is small enough to work in a home bathroom. A removable battery box with an integrated charger means the unit is not tethered to a power point, and the display tells the carer when it needs charging. Who it suits
Clients with some weight bearing ability and reasonable trunk control, particularly where low muscle tone or arthritis makes standing unaided unsafe.
