A full kettle is one of the heaviest things a person lifts in a day, and it is full of boiling water. The Gilia takes that out of the equation. The jug sits on a swivel base and pours by turning and tilting, so the weight never leaves the bench and never comes into the hand.
Four temperature settings cover tea, coffee and formula, with LED and audible cues when the water reaches the one that has been set. The base swivels a full turn and sits on a non-slip silicone pour pad. Dual water level windows can be read from either side, the lid is soft close and the filter lifts out for rinsing. It is BPA-free plastic and stainless steel.
Prescribe it for clients with reduced grip, upper limb weakness, tremor, arthritis or fatigue, for anyone working one-handed, and for clients recovering from a stroke or shoulder surgery. It is a common inclusion in kitchen assessments where scald risk is the concern rather than cognition.
