When a client cannot get the wrist and forearm rotation needed to bring a spoon level to the mouth, food ends up back on the plate and mealtimes become a source of embarrassment. This spoon is angled so the bowl stays level while the forearm stays in a comfortable position, and the angle is set with a small screw so it can be tuned to the individual.
The handle suits a power grip, with a thumb support that stops the hand sliding forward as the client scoops and lifts. An elastic strap holds the spoon in the hand for clients with very poor gripping ability, so the spoon does not need to be gripped at all to be used. This model is set up for left hand use.
It is dishwasher safe, so it goes through a normal kitchen routine.
