Eating one-handed is one of the quieter losses after a stroke or a limb injury, and it usually shows up first at the dinner table with food that needs cutting. The Etac Light combination cutlery puts a cutting edge on the side of a fork and a spoon, so one hand can cut and lift with the same piece.
One side of the handle is flattened, which gives the hand a stable reference point to press against when cutting and stops the utensil rolling in the grip. Each piece is shaped for its own job, so the spoon bowl and the fork tines still work properly for scooping and spearing. The pieces are light, which matters for a client who tires through a meal or who has weak grip and shoulder fatigue.
There is a knife and spoon, plus a knife and fork in right and left hand versions, so you can set a client up with the combination that fits their dominant side. All of it is dishwasher safe.
