Getting in and out of a shower recess is where most bathroom falls happen, and turning while standing on a wet floor is the worst part of it. The Etac Smart with swivel pad lets the person sit down on the stool at the recess edge and rotate their body into the shower with the pad doing the turning.
Who it suits
It works well for a client with poor standing balance, painful hips or knees, or limited trunk rotation, and for anyone whose shower routine currently depends on a carer steadying them through a pivot. The swivel pad means the carer is guiding a controlled rotation, not taking the person’s weight.
The rectangular seat is usable from more than one side, with a wider seating area on one edge and a narrower one on the other, which gives you options when the recess is tight or the shower controls are awkwardly placed. The legs are height adjustable with tool free locking buttons, the seat is perforated so water drains away, and angled legs with non-slip ferrules hold the stool steady on wet tile. Aluminium and polypropylene throughout means no corrosion.
