Cutting food takes a surprising amount of wrist and shoulder work, and it is often the first task a client with arthritis or reduced hand strength gives up on. The Etac Relieve angled knife changes the geometry so the wrist stays straight and the cutting force comes from the arm.
The handle is oval and angled, which gives a firm hold and a natural resting place for the thumb, and the blade sits below the line of the handle so the knuckles clear the plate and the food. The stainless steel blade is properly sharp, so it slices under light pressure and does not need a sawing action.
This is the smaller of the two sizes, which suits a smaller hand or a client who finds a heavier knife hard to control. It is dishwasher safe.
