The gel sits directly under the sitting bones in sealed cluster packs, giving immersion and offloading at the one part of the cushion that takes the most loading through a long day in the chair.
This is a cushion for someone with moderate to high pressure risk who still wants to move. The contoured base, pommel bolster and lateral inserts give the pelvis a defined place to sit, so trunk position holds through propulsion and reaching. Because the gel is packaged in clusters it will not migrate to one side and will not leak if the cover is punctured, which takes a maintenance job off the support worker’s list.
Build-up pads are supplied for correcting an obliquity, and the incontinence-rated stretch cover comes off for laundering.
