Where a client needs a true non contact area in the middle of the cushion and manages incontinence as well, this is the configuration to look at. The Centre Relief O2 offloads the coccyx, rectal or perineal region by having SmartCells taken out of its centre compartment, adjusted by hand until the tissue at risk carries nothing.
The load that comes off the middle is taken up by the compartments around it, which immerse the thighs and ischial region and hold the pelvis steady. The set up can be changed at review as a wound heals or as the client’s tolerance changes.
It is supplied with the Incotec cover, a fluid resistant elastic fabric made for incontinence and for settings where hygiene has to be managed closely. Cushion and cover both go through the washing machine, so it copes with a hospital, aged care or group home laundry routine.
