This is the full Vicair Anatomic Back system: the cushion, the Air Exchange cover and the Strap Back mounting, supplied together so the back support can go onto a chair and be set up in one visit.
Who it suits
It is for a manual wheelchair user who needs the back support to conform to their shape, particularly with scoliosis, kyphosis, spinal cord injury or a history of pressure damage across the back. The SmartCells filling shifts with the client, redistributing pressure and offloading the spinal column, and it will follow an asymmetric contour.
The Strap Back component is what makes the system work on chairs that have no back support plate, using adjustable straps across the back canes so tension can be tuned zone by zone. Between the straps and the cells there is a good amount of adjustment available with the client seated, so fine tuning does not mean ordering parts.
The cushion is light, latex free and ready to use once mounted.
