Ordered on its own, the CairMax Duo mattress works as a static pressure redistributing surface with no power, no pump and nothing to plug in. That suits a client whose risk is being managed without active therapy, and it suits a service that already holds control units and only needs the surface.
The construction is a foam core with alternating air cells embedded in it and a static foam head section, so the client has a stable surface under the shoulders and head while the body is carried across the whole mattress. Adding a control unit later converts it to dynamic therapy if the client’s skin deteriorates, without replacing the mattress.
The top cover comes off for laundering and the base wipes clean.
