For a client who propels well at home but runs out of shoulder on longer outings, the Light Drive 2.1 turns their own folding wheelchair into a powered one and then comes off again when it is not wanted.
Who it suits
This version is set up for folding frame chairs. Two small motors drive the rear tyres directly, the joystick clips into place, and the whole unit installs in a few steps without tools. Clutches let your client disengage the drive and self propel whenever they want to, so the chair still does its usual job around the house.
Because the add on lifts off, the wheelchair keeps its own weight, its fold and its centre of gravity for transfers and car loading. The battery meets air travel requirements, which matters for clients who fly. It is designed and made in France and is fitted to the client’s chair with a small permanent bracket.
