A transit chair earns its place when it is light enough to take everywhere. The ATMOS Ultra-Lite Transit weighs 7.5 kg without leg rests and cushion and folds in one movement, so a carer can lift it into a boot on their own.
It is built for the person pushing as well as the person sitting. Ergonomic hand grips and push-to-lock brakes sit within easy reach, the 305 mm (12 in) solid tyres never go flat, and anti-tip wheels add security at kerbs and ramps. Swing-away leg rests and flip-up footplates clear the way for transfers, and the seat and back cushions lift out to wash.
Who it suits
A person who is pushed by a carer for outings, appointments and travel, rather than self-propelling. It is crash tested to ISO 7176-19 at its full 136 kg capacity for use as a vehicle seat when correctly tied down. The seat and back are fixed, so someone who needs postural support, tilt or a specialised pressure cushion will be better served by an adjustable chair. Book a trial and we will work through the options with the prescribing OT.
