Some clients need more than a domestic mattress but nothing powered. The AreaCare Premium is a multi-density foam surface for low to medium risk of pressure injury, with memory foam on top for immersion, a support layer under it to spread load, and a slow-recovery base with a tapered heel zone that takes weight off fragile heels.
The hinged firm side walls are the part clinicians notice. They keep the edge stable for sitting and transfers, they help where a bed rail alternative is wanted, and they still follow a profiling bed rather than fighting it. The cover is water resistant and vapour permeable, with welded and taped seams, a full-perimeter zip and a waterfall skirt so fluid runs off rather than into the zip, and it is bacteriostatically treated and fire retardant.
Who it suits
A client at low to medium risk who spends long stretches in bed, at home or in residential care, on an adjustable or hospital bed. This code is the firm build; a soft version is made for a lighter client who wants more immersion. For a heavier client, or one at high risk with an injury already present, an alternating air mattress or a bariatric foam surface is the right referral instead.
