The M Corpus VS is Permobil’s mid-wheel drive standing power wheelchair. It takes the standing system proven on the F5 Corpus VS and puts it on the M3 mid-wheel base, so a client who needs the manoeuvrability of mid-wheel drive at home and at work no longer has to give up power standing.
Standing is programmed as a sequence, not a single movement: the chair can go from tilt or recline to upright stand, or straight from sitting to standing, with the knee supports, chest support and seat working together. Partial stand angles are set by the clinician, so standing can be introduced gradually as tolerance builds. The swing-away knee supports are much lighter than the original design and the chest support is adjustable. In the seated position the chair still offers tilt, recline, seat elevation, ActiveReach forward tilt and articulating legrests.
DualLink suspension with oil-dampened shock absorbers keeps the ride smooth over kerbs and rough ground, R-net Power Platform electronics support QuickConfig wireless programming and the MyPermobil app, and LED headlights and indicators are fitted as standard. Alternative drive controls, attendant control and mounting for communication devices can all be specified.
It suits adults and older teenagers with a spinal cord injury, MS, muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy who benefit from regular weight bearing and still need a chair that turns in a hallway, fits under a desk and drives well outdoors. A standing programme prescribed by the therapist supports bone density, bowel and bladder function, pressure relief and social interaction at eye level.
