Once a shower commode goes into tilt, the head has to be supported properly or the client slides off the edge of the pad. This is the larger of the two moulded, contoured head pads Raz make for their tilt chairs, giving more contact behind the head and neck than the pad supplied as standard.
It mounts on the Raz head support fixture, which is fitted to every Raz tilt chair and adjusts without tools through cast stainless steel links with interlocking teeth. That means the position can be changed at the chairside as the client’s posture changes, not booked in as a service job. The pad itself is moulded for a wet room and wipes clean.
Consider it for a client with reduced head and neck control, a larger frame, or one who spends real time in tilt during showering and toileting. A client with good head control who only needs a rest point during tilt is usually well served by the standard pad already on the chair. For a non-tilt chair such as the AP or SP, order the fixture and large pad together instead.
Good to know
- Pad only; the head support fixture is standard on tilt chairs and is not included
- Compatible with Raz-CAT, AT, ART and AT600
- An offset headrest mounting plate is available if the pad needs to sit further forward or pivot
