Plenty of clients can still move in bed, they just cannot lift their hips to shift across the mattress or pivot from lying to sitting. The WonderSheet Plus is a fitted sheet with a satin panel sewn into the centre, positioned under the shoulders, back and hips, so those movements take far less effort.
What makes the Plus version different is the sheeting left around the panel. The sides, head and foot are a cotton and polyester weave, which gives grip exactly where the client sits on the edge of the bed to transfer. Slide in the middle, grip at the edge. It also cuts the effort for a carer repositioning the client by hand.
The deep walls suit pressure care and adjustable bed mattresses, and the sheet washes at facility laundry temperatures, so it works at home or in a service. It is a low friction surface, not a slide sheet: the client needs enough movement of their own to use it, and enough control to hold a position in bed once they are there.
Good to know
- Choose the wall depth by measuring the mattress: up to 30 cm takes the 35 cm wall, 30 to 40 cm takes the 45 cm wall
- The original WonderSheet has satin edge to edge; the Plus version adds cotton and polyester sides for grip and is the one to choose for a client who sits on the edge of the bed
- Pillowcases are not included
- Listed on the DVA Rehabilitation Appliances Program
