A pressure care mattress, often hired or NDIS funded, has to stay dry and hygienic. The Conni protector is the barrier that makes that possible: it sits under the bottom sheet and stops fluid ever reaching the mattress.
The deep wall and corner toggle fasteners are the part that matters on a care bed. A flat protector rides up and bunches every time the backrest and knee break move; this one holds its position. The waterproof membrane is breathable, so the bed does not turn hot and sweaty overnight, and the fabric is Oeko-Tex certified. It machine washes in warm or cool water and tumble dries on low.
It is a barrier, not an absorbent pad. Where a client is regularly wet, pair it with a Conni bed pad or absorbent sheet so the moisture is pulled away from the skin.
Good to know
- Measure the mattress: 1070 x 2030 mm suits a king single, and the 270 mm wall covers most care bed mattresses
- Do not use fabric softener or bleach, and do not dry on high heat
- Use with a bottom sheet over the top; the Conni Premium MicroPlush range is the option for sleeping directly on the protector
