Weight alone does not tell you whether a client is losing muscle or gaining fluid. This body composition analyser uses eight point bioelectrical impedance analysis to separate fat mass, skeletal muscle mass and body water, which is the information dietitians, rehabilitation teams and renal services actually act on.
The client stands on the platform and holds the handrail, which has fixed handle positions so the same measurement is repeated the same way each visit. Foot mounted LEDs in the platform show where to stand. A measurement takes seconds.
Results go to seca’s cloud software, which handles storage and backup and presents the analysis as graphics a client can understand. Data can be sent straight to an electronic medical record or a printer. Formulas are available for children, for older adults and for clients with obesity.
