A transfer bench answers the problem of the bath or shower hob: the client sits down on the dry side, then slides across without stepping over. This Redgum bench spans the edge, so the risky part of the move happens seated.
It sets up left or right handed, which means one bench suits either bathroom layout and can be turned around if the client moves house or changes sides. The backrest and the armrest handle lift off if they get in the way of a carer, and the backrest is contoured with a carry handle moulded into it.
The seat drains through large holes and both the seat and backrest are textured so a wet client is not sliding on the surface. Two legs carry suction cups for grip on a tiled floor, the frame is anodised aluminium with stainless fittings, and a soap holder is built into the seat. The whole thing flat packs, which is useful for hire stock and for clients who travel.
