The Empulse F35 attaches to the front of a manual wheelchair and pulls. For a client who self propels but is paying for it in shoulder pain, or who is limited to short distances because of fatigue, it turns the chair into something that will cover a shopping trip or a commute without loading the upper limbs.
Docking is one motion. The subframe stays on the chair all day and the drive unit latches in, lines up and locks with a push forward, which suits a client who mounts and dismounts several times a day. It comes off just as quickly for car transfers, and the unit splits down for lifting.
Three speed modes let a client keep pace on a footpath or run slow in a crowded space. It fits a good range of manual frames, including swing away front ends, so many clients can keep the chair they already have.
