Bath transfers are one of the riskiest moments in a client’s day. This bench bridges the bath rim so the person can sit down outside the bath, then slide across and bring their legs over, keeping their weight supported the whole way.
The three piece plastic seat is non slip and drains, the frame is welded aluminium, and the height adjusts on each leg so the seat can be levelled where the inner legs sit lower in the bath. A hand rail gives the client something solid to pull against, and the backrest reverses so the bench can be set up for either a left or right approach.
It suits clients who can weight bear to stand and pivot but cannot step over a bath rim safely, and it gives the carer a stable surface to work from during washing.
