For a client at very high risk of pressure injury who will not reliably have a cushion checked and re pumped, the Dyna-Tek Intelligent Air takes the setup out of air seating. A self adjusting valve moves air between cells as the person’s position and weight change, so the cushion keeps redistributing pressure without anyone touching it.
It is built as a layer of air over castellated foam. The air layer does the immersion and damping, the foam base gives a stable platform for transfers and stops the client bottoming out on the seat. For a support worker it behaves like a foam cushion: put it on the chair the right way round and leave it alone.
The cover comes off for laundering and the cushion is compatible with hypochlorite for infection control, which suits shared equipment pools and aged care. Cover fabric options include Dartex, reverse Dartex and mesh spacer.
