Sling seat wheelchairs hammock in the middle, and the client ends up with the pelvis dropped, the legs rolling in and pressure concentrated where you least want it. This moulded cushion is shaped to sit on that sling and give the buttocks and thighs a level, contoured surface to rest on.
The contours gently separate the legs and hold even spacing, which helps a client who tends to adduct through the day. Load is spread across the whole contact area, which supports circulation on long sitting days and takes the edge off back pain and numbness.
A hook and loop strap passes under the wheelchair seat and holds the cushion in position, so it does not creep forward during transfers. The soft cover has a zip and can be wiped down in place or taken off and machine washed.
