A self help pole gives a client something solid to pull on when they want to sit up, shift across the mattress or steady themselves before a transfer. Fitted to the Impulse bed frame, this one puts a handle within easy reach above the chest.
For clients with reasonable upper body strength, that overhead grip often means doing for themselves what would otherwise need a carer, which is worth a lot for both independence and dignity. For carers, it gives the client something to hold during repositioning.
It mounts to the bed, not the floor, so it does not take up room beside the bed and does not need to be moved when the bed is raised or lowered.
