Who it suits
This rail suits a client who is unsteady getting out of bed and would benefit from something solid to pull on, and who also wants an edge on the bed at night. It does both jobs: a standing assist handle in the morning and a boundary while sleeping.
The rail length adjusts through three positions, so you can cover more or less of the bed edge depending on whether your client needs room to transfer or more of an edge to work against. It pivots down out of the way when the rail is not wanted, which keeps bed making and carer access straightforward, and it needs clear floor space beside the bed to lower fully.
It secures to the bed frame with a supplied safety strap and suits traditional bed frames, not adjustable beds. Mattress thickness and firmness both matter here: a soft mattress that compresses under load increases entrapment risk, so assess the mattress as part of the prescription. An organiser pouch is included for a phone or glasses.
