Bariatric clients who can push themselves often end up with two pieces of equipment, one for the shower and one for the toilet, in a bathroom that has room for neither. The Aquatec Ocean Ergo XL does both jobs in one chair, and the user stays in control of where they go.
The wider contoured seat spreads the load and takes the pressure off the sit bones during a long shower. Arms swing away and footrests move out of the path, so a side transfer from a bed or wheelchair is a slide rather than a lift. Seat height sets without tools, which means a therapist can match it to the bed or wheelchair on the day and reset it later if the client’s set-up changes. The backrest tension adjusts to the shape of the back and the cover comes off for a machine wash.
The powder coated stainless steel frame is made for a wet room and will not mind daily use in supported accommodation or aged care. It rolls over a standard toilet, so a carer is not lifting anyone twice.
