Some settings cannot run on reusable slings. Slings go missing between wards, laundering is slow, and in an infection control situation a shared sling is a risk nobody wants to carry. This is the single patient use standing sling for the Arjo Sara Plus, assigned to one person and discarded when they are finished with it.
In use it does the same job as the reusable version. It supports a semi active client under the arms and around the back while the Sara Plus brings them up to standing for a transfer, a toilet visit or a short move between bed, chair and hygiene chair. Cord loops drop onto the Sara Plus spreader bar, so carers already trained on the machine need nothing new to learn.
It suits clients who can bear weight through at least one leg, follow an instruction and hold the handles, but cannot stand safely on their own. Typical users are people in rehabilitation, respite and transitional care, where the stay is short and a fitted reusable sling is not worth the cost or the laundry.
