A bed exit alarm only works if the carer trusts it. The Posey Sitter Elite gives you enough control to stop the nuisance alarms that make people switch a monitor off: several tones, three volume levels, a short selectable delay so a client repositioning does not set it going, and hold and suspend buttons for when someone is attending.
It connects to a corded Posey sensor pad on a bed, chair, chair belt, toilet, commode or stretcher, and alarms when the client’s weight comes off the pad. As well as a tone it can play back a recorded message. A familiar voice asking the client to wait can be the difference between a fall and the carer arriving in time.
Who it suits
Clients with impaired memory, poor safety awareness or unsteady mobility who get up unassisted, particularly overnight. It suits aged care and hospital wards, and it works just as well at home where a family member sleeps in another room. In a facility it can be wired into the nurse call system with the optional cable, so the alarm reaches the staff station rather than only the bedroom.
