The Cura1 2628 Premium Chair Pad sits on the seat of a lounge chair, wheelchair or recliner and connects by cable to a Cura1 premium falls monitor. When the client lifts off the seat, the monitor raises the alarm, so an unwitnessed transfer becomes a call for help rather than a discovery later.
The pad takes its power from the monitor through a break cord, so there are no batteries in the pad and nothing to check on a round. The break cord pulls apart if someone catches it instead of dragging the monitor off the side table. A soft PVC surface wipes clean between residents, and vent holes in the neck reduce moisture ingress, which is what usually shortens the life of a chair pad in practice.
It suits clients at risk of standing without help: residents with dementia who forget they need assistance, and clients on a mobility restriction after a fall or surgery. Because the monitor has to sit beside the chair, it works best with a fixed seating position. For a wheelchair that moves around the house, choose the cordless 2630 pad instead.
