Some clients will not have a sensor pad on the bed. They find it under the sheet, roll it up, push it off, or their skin will not tolerate anything extra against it. The Cura1 3515 answers that by going under the mattress entirely, where the client never touches it or knows it is there.
It sits on the centre panel of most care beds and, with a 2719 Cordless Pad Transmitter, signals a Cura1 monitor or pager when the person gets out of bed. Sitting below the mattress also keeps the sensor clear of continence issues, which is the other thing that tends to end the life of a top-of-mattress pad early. The cover is non-allergenic soft PVC, it wipes clean, and vent holes in the neck reduce moisture getting inside.
It is a common choice in dementia care and for clients with sensory sensitivity or fragile skin. Do check the minimum user weight before prescribing, since a very light client may not register consistently through a mattress.
