The Malte compact is a posterior walker for children who walk with the frame behind them, which encourages an upright trunk and a longer step. It is built for indoor and everyday use at home, school and therapy, and it grows with the child across five sizes.
Who it suits
It is aimed at children around GMFCS levels III and IV who can take steps with support but need the frame to manage balance and direction. Pelvic pads hold the hips in position, the abducted frame shape stops the legs swinging outwards, and a directional lock keeps the walker tracking straight for a child who wanders off line.
A roll back stop prevents the frame drifting away behind the child, and the posterior pad converts to a backrest in one movement when they need a rest. For carers, the aluminium frame folds at the joints for the car or for storage in a classroom, and the handle and forearm settings adjust without a workshop visit.
