Some children are limited by where their walker can go, not by their walking. The Malte outdoor is built for footpaths, grass, gravel and school grounds, with larger and wider wheels that carry the frame over surfaces an indoor walker gets stuck on.
Who it suits
It suits children around GMFCS levels III and IV who already walk with a posterior frame and want to use it outside, on the way to school, on family walks and alongside siblings on bikes. Pelvic support and the abducted frame shape do the same postural work outdoors as they do inside.
Drum brakes give controlled slowing on a slope, and a separate parking brake holds the frame still for transfers and rest stops. A roll back stop keeps the walker from drifting away behind the child, and an optional tilt guard adds protection against tipping backwards on uneven ground. The padded bench folds back for a rest, and the aluminium frame folds down for the car.
