Who it suits
Children and young people at GMFCS levels III and IV who are working on gait outside: on footpaths, across a school oval, at the park with siblings. The Malte Outdoor is built for that ground, with larger wider wheels and outdoor approved tyres.
The posterior frame is abducted so it does not swing out and catch the child’s legs as they step. Drum brakes on the rear wheels give a carer real control on a slope, and a parking brake holds the walker still for transfers. A friction brake system lets you set how freely the wheels roll, which is how you dial the challenge up or down as a child’s control improves.
A padded bench folds down when a child needs to rest and folds back out of the way to keep walking. The aluminium frame folds for the boot of a car. A tilt guard and a backwards stop are available where backward tipping or unintended rolling is a risk.
