Tremor makes eating tiring and public. Added weight in the handle damps the shake and gives the hand more feedback about where the utensil is, which helps a client get food to the mouth with less spillage and less effort.
The weighting is adjustable, so you can start light and work up to whatever steadies the hand best for that client, then revisit it as their condition changes. It suits clients with essential tremor, Parkinson’s, ataxia or general upper limb weakness. Available as a fork, a serrated knife or a tablespoon, so a client can take only the pieces they need.
