About this product

This is the Oxford Full Back in net: the same contoured full body sling with a boned head support and padded leg sections, cut in an open weave polyester that drains and dries quickly. It can stay on the client through a shower or a bath, which means one sling covers the morning routine instead of two.

The head support is integrated rather than an add-on, so the client is held from head to thigh in one piece. Padded leg sections come as standard, and positioning handles on the back give the carer a grip when settling the client into a chair afterwards. A modesty loop is fitted. Colour coded loops and binding mean the carer picks the right size and the right loop position each time without guessing.

It is for a client who needs a hoist for everything and cannot hold their head or trunk up: after a stroke, with advanced neurological disease, or with severe frailty, where the sling has to survive being wet. For a client with strong extensor tone or spasms, the Silvalea Tinkham gives firmer containment. For dry transfers only, the polyester version of the same sling is softer against skin.

Good to know

  • Check the spreader bar is loop compatible; the sling is also available in polyester
  • Inspect the sling before every use and at six-monthly intervals in line with ISO 10535
  • Slings are single-client items and are not returnable once supplied
