Some clients sit with their shoulders drawn forward and their trunk collapsing into flexion, and what they need is not containment across the chest but a pull that encourages the shoulders back. The Spex padded retractor harness is built for that: two individual straps that bring the shoulders into retraction.
Because it works as two separate straps, there is very little material across the chest. That keeps the abdomen clear, which helps for clients with a feeding tube, reflux or respiratory issues, and it leaves the front of the body open for tray work and self feeding.
The pads are soft and water resistant and conform to the body without creasing, the webbing is ridge woven so the setting holds, and the stainless steel adjusters do not slip out of place. This is the medium size. It is a positioning device only and is not intended as a vehicle restraint.
